Brady Hoke Crashes Michigan State Basketball Game

Brady Hoke Spartans

Michigan coach Brady Hoke invaded Lansing, MI on Tuesday night sitting courtside at the Michigan and Michigan State basketball rivalry. Hoke has become a regular fixture at Michigan Wolverines home basketball games. Hoke watched Michigan’s 75-52 loss to the Spartans sitting behind the Michigan bench and in front of the Izzone, Michigan State’s student section.

Hoke sat near former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr and defensive coordinator Greg Mattison. The coaches were also joined by Hoke’s daughter and wife and also Carr’s and Mattison’s wives.

Brady Hoke Mark DantonioHoke shook hands and chatted briefly with Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio before the game. Hoke stood through most timeouts as did the other coaches. While Hoke was not allowed to interact with visiting Michigan State recruits his presence must have been noticed.

Hoke presence was noticed by the Izzone who chanted at Hoke when he first arrived. Later in the game the students chanted “Lawrence Marshall” referencing a defensive end recruit Hoke failed to lure. Marshall signed with Ohio State. However, the coach’s presence didn’t cause much of a disturbance during the meeting of the two Top-10 ranked teams, probably because the Spartans had the game firmly in hand for most of the game, leading by as much as 31 points.

Hoke is welcomed by the Izzone
