QB Geno Smith, West Virginia
The Mountaineers quarterback is having a phenomenal start to his season. Last weekend Geno Smith’s numbers were video game-ish. Smith attempted 39 passes completing 34 of them for a total of 411 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s thrown no interceptions threw this point in the season and has a quarterback rating of 209 according to ESPN’s new rating system. Smith faces Maryland and Baylor before getting a real Big 12 test at Texas.
QB J.W. Walsh, Oklahoma State
After Wes Lunt went down with a nasty injury to his kneecap, the Cowboys weren’t sure how their team would respond. Freshman quarterback J.W. Walsh had other ideas in mind. Walsh entered the game against Louisiana-Lafayette in the fist quarter and finished the game with 347 yards, 4 touchdowns, and no interceptions. It’s safe to say that the Cowboys have found Lunt’s replacement.
QB Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville
We’ve bragged about Bridgewater here already, but the kids numbers are outstanding. Bridgewater was 23 – 28 for a total of 279 yards and 3 touchdowns last week against North Carolina. Bridgewater has shown through this point in the season that he can be both effective and accurate in leading the Cardinals offense. It’s safe to say that he’ll continue down that path and could see himself in New York if he keeps it up.
