Independence Bowl Renamed AdvoCare Bowl

Richard Wright

The Bowl Game in Shreveport, LA formerly known as the Independence Bowl will now be known as the AdvoCare Bowl. The Independence Bowl was first played in 1976 the 200th anniversary or America’s Declaration of Independence.

What a terrible name. I’m as capitalistic as the next person but the name “The AdvoCare Bowl” is horrendous. We can argue about tradition verses progress in college football and whether money is ruining an amateur athletics. However, we can all agree “The AdvoCare Bowl” is a terrible soulless bowl name.

AdvoCare is health and fitness supplement company from Plano, Texas. Tell us more AdvoCare spokesman Drew Brees.
