Lane Kiffin was rumored to be the next coach at Houston, then at USF, then at FAU and then things seemed to fall apart … until today when we learn that Kiffin will in fact be named the new head coach at Florida Atlantic.
Interestingly, Kiffin will probably be taking a rather large pay cut as FAU was only paying Charlie Partridge $600k before he was fired. Had Kiffin not accepted the FAU job, he would have likely been the offensive coordinator at LSU where he would be making upwards of around $1.5 million in a multi-year deal with annual raises.

I'm told that Lane Kiffin plans to remain as Alabama's offensive coordinator throughout the College Football Playoff.

Now LSU will be looking for someone other than the guy Ed Orgeron was hired because he promised to bring onto his staff.
